Mat 5:38  "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' Mat 5:39  But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Mat 5:40  And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. Mat 5:41  If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Mat 5:42  Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.” (ESV)

These verses of the Bible are to teach a new way of living. They focus on Jesus teaching to transform your heart and have love for all. This not a command against self-defense or escape from abuse. This is a command not to seek personal revenge. Unfortunately, even government leaders are seeking revenge on perceived enemies. A true christian would not seek retribution against another person.
How soon will it be before your neighbor turns you in for a reward because you said something that offended. Jesus teaching shows true christians that they must forgive and move on with their lives. Praise God!

Many people think the have the world by the tail. Times are good and money is flowing in. Remember the same wonderful tail today, could kill you tomorrow. Tails swing both ways. The only true thing in this world is God.

If you are going through hard times in your life, remember Jesus. Although Jesus did not promise an easy life, He did give guidance on getting through it. Our hope is knowing that Jesus is walking right along with us. He is always there. Be still. Listen to Gods voice and then respond. Do as God wants, study the bible, reach out for help if needed. Most of all praise God for everything in your life, good and bad. He is in control and we only need to let Him lead.

    Some comforting bible verses:

    • John 16:33
    • Isaiah 41:10
    • Philippians 4:6-7
    • Romans 15:13

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. —SIR EDMUND BURKE

That quote seems to take additional meaning today in many areas. Do not let evil triumph!

Kim Meeder is a Christian writer and co-founder of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. She has several great books out.

    • Revival Rising

This quote is from Encountering Our Wild God.

"I have heard it stated that human nature fears what it cannot control. Yet if this were how God meant for us to live, we would fear everything. Because the truth is, we control nothing except our ability to choose. God did not create us to live in fear. Our fear is contrary to His Word. First John 4:18 (NKJV) states that “perfect love casts out fear”—all fear—and guess who “perfect love” is? God Himself."

Meeder, Kim. Encountering Our Wild God: Ways to Experience His Untamable Presence Every Day (p. 153). (Function). Kindle Edition.

As Kim states we can control nothing in this world except our ability to choose. Choose God! Choose Jesus!

Morality is a funny thing. What one person sees as moral another sees as immoral. Of course, mankind is not to be the judge of what's moral. Only God and through His Word in the Bible can one find true definition for morality. People try to make laws as to what they think is moral, but God is the only judge. Jesus is the only true example of what is moral. Follow Him; read the bible. Then through teaching can we come closer to God's idea of moral.

Many so called ministers of the faith have forsaken what the Bible says for an easy interpretation. I have heard of several ministers that are teaching that the real miracle of feeding the 5000 in the Bible is that people were sharing their food with others who had none. The Bible clearly states that Jesus took the bread and fishes and gave thanks, then fed the people. Anything less takes away from the deity of Christ. If the Lord can create everything in the universe, why could He not multiply this food? I question if many ministers of the "faith" even believe in God! God IS great and has power over all.
